In a shocking incident in Kestopur Rabindra Pally, Baguiati, a husband threw acid on his wife after a prolonged family dispute. The victim, Madhu Dey, had been residing at her father's house for the past seven months.
The distressing episode unfolded in the afternoon when Sanjeev Dey, the husband, called Madhu to his house. Suddenly, in a fit of rage, he threw acid from a mug at his wife. Madhu's screams prompted neighbors to rush to her aid, rescuing her from the harrowing situation. She was immediately taken to Bidhannagar Sub-Divisional Hospital.
Upon receiving information, the Baguiati police promptly arrived at the scene and apprehended Sanjeev Dey. Although Sanjeev claimed that the acid accidentally spilled on him, the husband sustained injuries in the process. Despite his assertions, he was detained and questioned by the police based on Madhu's complaint.
