A family of four was found dead at their residence in Ravindranagar Colony, Habsiguda, on Monday night, with police suspecting financial distress and health issues as the cause. The deceased include a 44-year-old man, his 35-year-old wife, and their two minor children. Authorities believe the couple strangled their children before taking their own lives.
According to Osmania University police, the incident took place around 9:30 PM. Neighbors alerted the police, who arrived at the scene and discovered the man and his wife hanging in separate rooms while the children were found lifeless on a bed. A suicide note, reportedly written by the man in Telugu, cited prolonged joblessness, financial burdens, and severe health conditions, including diabetes, nerve issues, and kidney diseases. "No one is responsible for my death. I had no other option but to end my life," the note read.
Investigators found that the man had previously worked as a lecturer at a private college but had been unemployed for six months. The family, originally from Mukuralla village in Kalwakurthy block of Mahabubnagar district, had moved to Hyderabad a year ago. Police officials stated that financial instability might have played a significant role in the deaths.
The bodies have been sent to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem examination. A case of suspicious death has been registered, and further investigation is underway. Authorities are verifying additional details to understand the sequence of events and any external factors that may have influenced the decision.
In a separate case, a man named Anji Babu, who had taken a ₹12 lakh loan, was allegedly kidnapped and forced to consume poison by his creditors in Piduguralla, Palnadu district. He succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment, and police have launched a probe into the matter.
