Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan has announced his decision to join the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), stating that he will formalize his induction at the BJP's office in Mumbai. Chavan, who resigned from the Congress on Monday, expressed his anticipation for a new phase in his political career, emphasizing that his departure from the Congress was independent and refrained from citing specific reasons.
Chavan clarified that he has not solicited any Congress worker or supporter to accompany him during his transition to the BJP."I will be officially joining the BJP at its office in Mumbai. There will be some leaders along with me there. There will be Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Mumbai BJP chief Ashish Shelar among others," he said.
