The recovery of illegal weapons from the Baliguri No. 1 Gram Panchayat area under the jurisdiction of the Tarakeswar Police Station in Hooghly district has triggered widespread tension and discussion across the locality. According to sources, the police recovered the illicit arms during a raid conducted at the residence of Sikandar Sah, alias Tuntun. The operation was reportedly launched after Tarakeswar police received specific intelligence inputs regarding the alleged presence of illegal weapons at the premises.
Local residents stated that Sikandar Sah was known in the area as an active Trinamool Congress worker and was considered an influential figure within the locality. According to local accounts, he was also regarded as a close associate of Ramendu Singhray, a prominent leader in the region. News of the police operation quickly spread throughout the area, making the raid a major topic of discussion among residents and political circles alike.
Police sources stated that the accused is scheduled to be produced before a court today.
