India beats Pakistan 2-1 in Asian Champions Trophy 2024

In the Asian Champions Trophy 2024 in Moqi, China, Indian captain Harmanpreet Singh delivered a decisive performance as his team edged out arch-rivals Pakistan 2-1. Despite an early setback when Ahmad Nadeem put Pakistan ahead in the 8th minute, Harmanpreet turned the game around with two stunning penalty corner goals in the first half.

This crucial win marks India’s fifth consecutive victory in the tournament’s round-robin stage, keeping their unbeaten streak alive. With this result, India secures a spot in the semifinals, where they will face off against the top teams.

Joining India and Pakistan in the final four are Korea, while Malaysia and China are still in the running for the last semifinal spot. The semifinals are set for September 16, promising more high-octane action, with the grand final scheduled for September 17.
