INDIA Bloc leaders protest at Jantar Mantar against suspension of 146 MPs

Leaders of the INDIA bloc gathered at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi to protest against the suspension of 146 opposition MPs during the Winter Session of Parliament.

The suspended MPs, including Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Sharad Pawar, D. Raja, and Sitaram Yechury, demanded a detailed statement from Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the Parliament security breach on December 13.

Expressing discontent with the suspension, Congress MP Syed Naseer Hussain criticized the government, stating that Parliament is the highest decision-making body, and the government has no right to suspend MPs, deeming it undemocratic.

Digvijaya Singh highlighted that the demand was for a statement from the Home Minister, questioning the unprecedented number of suspensions. The protest aimed to hold the BJP accountable for the security breach incident in Parliament during the Winter Session.
