India hires Trump’s strategist Jason Miller, Pakistan picks ex-bodyguard Keith Schiller for lobbying

In a striking contrast of styles, India and Pakistan have chosen two very different figures from Donald Trump’s inner circle as their lobbyists in the United States. While India has hired Jason Miller, a senior political adviser and longtime Trump confidant, Pakistan has brought on board Keith Schiller — Trump’s former bodyguard known more for fists than foreign policy.

India signed Miller to a one-year lobbying contract worth $150,000 a month, seeing in him someone who understands Trump’s political mind and media instincts. Miller is expected to help India navigate Washington’s corridors, especially as Trump eyes a political comeback and as the US tries to play mediator in South Asia.

Pakistan, on the other hand, has chosen a very different route. It appointed Schiller — once Director of Oval Office Operations — via Javelin Advisors, to push for stronger economic ties with the US government and private sector. Schiller, a former NYPD officer, is better known for loyalty-driven assignments, including delivering the letter firing FBI Director James Comey, and allegedly being involved in Trump's hush-money controversy.

This lobbying duel follows the recent flare-up in Indo-Pak tensions after the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people and India’s subsequent response with Operation Sindoor. As diplomatic activity picks up in Washington, both nations appear keen to have Trump-world insiders in their corner.

India’s choice signals a strategic tilt toward messaging and diplomacy, while Pakistan’s pick leans on personal access and old-school loyalty. In short, while India has gone for Trump’s brain, Pakistan seems to have settled for his brawn.
