India is set to travel to Bangladesh for an exciting white-ball tour in August 2025, featuring three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and three T20 Internationals (T20Is). This tour marks a historic moment as Bangladesh will host India for a T20I bilateral series at home for the very first time.
The Indian team will arrive in Dhaka on 13 August, four days before the ODI series kicks off at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. The second ODI will also be held in Mirpur on 20 August, while the final match of the 50-over leg will shift to Chattogram on 23 August.
Interestingly, Chattogram will also host the opening T20I on 26 August, before the series moves back to Mirpur for the second and third T20Is on 29 and 31 August respectively. These matches are expected to attract massive attention from cricket fans across both countries, given the growing intensity of this cross-border rivalry.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury expressed optimism about the series, stating, “This series promises to be one of the most exciting and most anticipated events in our home calendar.” He emphasized India’s stature in world cricket and the competitive nature of the recent contests between the two nations.
The last time the two teams met in a T20I series was in India in 2024, where the hosts swept Bangladesh 3-0. However, in their most recent ODI series in 2022, Bangladesh emerged victorious 2-1 at home, showcasing their capability to challenge India in familiar conditions.
This tour holds added significance ahead of the 2025 ICC tournaments, providing both teams with valuable preparation and momentum. With players like Shubman Gill and Mohammed Shami in top form during the recent Champions Trophy, fans are eagerly anticipating another thrilling chapter in this growing rivalry.
