In a solemn ceremony, the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police paid heartfelt tributes to five soldiers who lost their lives in a 36-hour-long encounter in the Bajimaal area of Darmsal in Rajouri district. The soldiers, including Captain MV Pranjal, Captain Shubham Gupta, Havaldar Abdul Majid, Lance Naik Sanjay Bist, and Paratrooper Sachin Laur, displayed exceptional courage while combating terrorists. The encounter resulted in the neutralization of two terrorists, including a top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander trained in Afghanistan, while the security forces suffered five casualties.
A wreath-laying ceremony took place at the Army General Hospital Rajouri, attended by the General Officer Commanding Romeo Force, other officers, and police officials. The soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice were identified as Captain MV Pranjal, Captain Shubham Gupta, Havaldar Abdul Majid, Lance Naik Sanjay Bist, and Paratrooper Sachin Laur. Each soldier's contribution and bravery were acknowledged, with their mortal remains being sent to their respective native places for the last rites.
