In a recent interview with the Financial Times, Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded to critics' claims of anti-Muslim sentiments under BJP rule. Many ministers, MPs and leaders of BJP have been facing such allegations. PM Modi has responded to the opposition on this issue. He said that despite facing persecution in many countries of the world, India has become a safe haven for them. He has also said that Muslims are living happily and prosperously in India.
The Prime Minister has said these things in an interview given to the Financial Times. When PM Modi was asked what is the future of the Muslim minority in India, he pointed towards the economic success of the Parsis in India. He described Parsis as a religious micro-minority living in India. PM Modi said, "Despite facing persecution anywhere in the world, they have found a safe haven in India. They are living happily and prosperously.'' PM Modi said, ''This shows that there is no feeling of discrimination against any religious minority in the Indian society.''
Prime Minister Modi said, "There is an entire ecosystem which is using the freedom available in our country to make these allegations against us every day through editorials, TV channels, social media, videos, tweets etc. They should be stopped from doing so." But others have an equal right to respond with facts.'' PM Modi says there is a long history of outsiders who have undermined India.
He said, “When India became independent in 1947, the British made very dire predictions about the future of India. “But we have seen that all those predictions and preconceptions have proved false.” PM Modi said that those who doubt his government in the same way today will also be proved wrong.
