Indian Navy, in collaboration with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), executed a significant operation in the Arabian Sea on Tuesday (27 February), resulting in the interception of a suspicious boat carrying more than 3000 kg of drugs. The joint operation, off the coast of Gujarat, marked a crucial step in combating drug trafficking in the region. Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised the coordinated efforts of the agencies involved, underscoring the government's commitment to a drug-free India.

The seized drugs, comprising 3089 kg of hashish, 158 kg of methamphetamine, and 25 kg of morphine, represent the largest haul in recent times. The Indian Navy reported that the apprehended vessel was intercepted near the International Maritime Boundary Line off the Gujarat coast. Following the interception, the boat, its crew, and the contraband were transferred to Indian law enforcement authorities at a port on Tuesday (27 February). This successful operation signifies India's resolute stance against drug smuggling and highlights the efficacy of collaborative efforts between agencies in curbing illicit activities at sea.
