Indian woman's marriage to Pakistani Facebook friend sparks samily strife

In a dramatic turn of events, an Indian woman, formerly known as Anju, legally married her Facebook friend Nasrullah in Pakistan and adopted the name Fatima. However, her marriage decision has led to a complete breakdown in relations with her family in India.

Hours after Pakistani media confirmed the marriage, Anju's father disowned her, stating that she was "dead" to him and the family. He claimed to have no knowledge of her marriage to Nasrullah and emphasized that Anju had an arranged marriage with Arvind, a Rajasthan-based man, about 18 to 19 years ago.

While Anju occasionally visits her family, she is not closely connected to them. Her father admitted that he was unaware of the specifics of her trip to Pakistan, including when she applied for the visa and the exact reasons for her visit.

According to authorities, Anju legally entered Pakistan through the Wagah-Attari border with a 30-day visa. She converted to Islam and officially married Nasrullah after appearing before a court in Upper Dir amid tight security.

Prior to her marriage, Anju posted a video on social media expressing her sense of safety in Pakistan and appealing to Indian authorities and media not to harass her family. Anju's husband, Arvind, along with their son and daughter, reside in Rajasthan's Alwar district. However, her marriage to Nasrullah in Pakistan has put a strain on their family ties. This event comes amidst the recent case of Seema Haider, a Pakistani woman who entered India illegally via Dubai and Nepal to be with her lover Sachin Meena, whom she met while playing PUBG.

The situation has garnered significant attention and highlights the complexities of cross-border relationships and the emotional toll it can take on families. As authorities investigate further, the future of Anju's relationship with her family remains uncertain.
