An IndiGo flight travelling from Kochi to Delhi made an emergency landing at Nagpur airport on Tuesday morning following a bomb threat. The aircraft, which had originally arrived from Muscat, had taken off for Delhi at 9:31 am with 157 passengers and six crew members on board.
According to airport authorities, the threat was received through an official email and was classified as “specific” by the Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC). This triggered an immediate alert, and the aircraft was diverted mid-air to Nagpur as a precaution.
Security agencies conducted a thorough inspection of the plane after its safe landing. Passengers were deboarded safely, and no suspicious objects were reported during the initial screening.
Officials confirmed that after the mandatory security checks are completed, the aircraft will be cleared to resume its journey to Delhi.
