Bengal Govt elevates IPS Ajay Mukund Ranade to DGP (Law and Order)
A woman identified as Aksara Chaklani, a resident of R.N. Guha Road in Nagerbazar, was seriously injured in a road accident around 9:45 AM on Saturday on the Nagerbazar flyover in Kolkata's Dum Dum area. She was travelling on a scooter towards the airport when her vehicle reportedly collided with another vehicle on the flyover. The impact caused severe injuries to her head and leg, with heavy bleeding at the scene.
Police personnel reached the location soon after being informed of the incident and attempted to take Aksara to the hospital. However, she refused to go without her family members. She remained at the accident spot for an extended period until her relatives arrived. Only after their arrival did she agree to be taken to a hospital, where she is currently undergoing treatment.
The police have started an investigation into the crash. Since Aksara was unable to give a clear account of what occurred, officers are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to determine how the incident took place and to identify the vehicle involved in the collision.
