Iran's Revolutionary Guards initiated overnight missile strikes targeting anti-Iranian terrorist groups in Iraq and Syria amidst the ongoing conflict in Israel. The strikes, described as 'revenge' attacks, specifically aimed at the MOSSAD headquarters, the Israeli spy agency in Iraq, and Islamic State group targets in Syria. The missile barrage included several ballistic missiles, with some landing near the U.S. embassy in Erbil.
The attacks followed recent incidents, including twin bombings in Kerman near the tomb of General Qassem Soleimani, claimed by ISIS, and the killing of an IRGC commander in an Israeli airstrike. The Revolutionary Guards justified their actions by saying "In response to the recent atrocities of the Zionist regime, causing the killing of commanders of the Guards and the Axis of Resistance one of the main Mossad espionage headquarters in Iraq's Kurdistan region was destroyed with ballistic missiles".
