NIA searches Saokat Molla’s home and party office, son questioned in Bhangar blast case
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed in a coordinated strike carried out by Israel and the United States after a years-long intelligence operation that reportedly involved hacking Tehran’s traffic camera network. The attack, which stunned the world, was the culmination of a sophisticated surveillance and targeting strategy developed over several years.
According to reports, Israeli intelligence had accessed and monitored traffic cameras across Tehran for a long period. Data from one specific camera reportedly revealed where the bodyguards of senior Iranian officials usually parked their vehicles, helping intelligence agencies understand the daily routines and movements within the tightly guarded compound where Khamenei worked.
The operation also relied on advanced data analysis. Intelligence agencies reportedly used algorithms to analyse security personnel, commuting routes, schedules and the officials they protected. This created what intelligence professionals call a “pattern of life”, allowing planners to determine the exact time when Khamenei and other senior figures would be present at the compound.
The strike itself was part of a joint military operation authorised by U.S. President Donald Trump. Israeli aircraft launched precision-guided munitions at Khamenei’s complex after cyber operations disrupted Iran’s communication and defence systems. Intelligence gathered by Israel’s Unit 8200, the Central Intelligence Agency, and other sources reportedly helped verify the target before the final attack.
