ISRO’s PSLV-C56 mission successfully lifts off with Singaporean satellites on board

At 06:30 IST on July 30, 2023, the PSLV-C56 mission successfully launched the DS-SAR satellite and six copassengers from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.

The PSLV, known for its reliability, is ISRO's workhorse rocket and executed this dedicated commercial mission for Singapore-based ST Engineering. The DS-SAR satellite, equipped with radar imaging technology, will cater to the needs of the Singaporean government.

Additionally, the launch also featured academic and experimental nanosatellites, including one demonstrating 3D printing in microgravity and another with the world's first multimodal all-electric propulsion engine.

Furthermore, ISRO's innovative approach to reduce space debris was showcased as they used the remaining propellant on the upper stage to reduce its altitude, contributing to sustainable space use and less orbital debris production.
