Jagatballavpur, a quiet village, has once again found itself in the spotlight following a series of thefts. Early this morning, villagers took to blocking the main road, using tree branches and makeshift barricades.
The trigger for this uproar was the brazen theft that occurred last night in Munshirhat, where thieves targeted two temples, making away with idol jewellery valued at Rs 3 lakh.
The news spread rapidly, prompting furious residents and local religious leaders to unite in protest, obstructing the road to demand swift action from law enforcement. When the police arrived to disperse the crowd and clear the blockade, tensions escalated, resulting in clashes between the villagers and law enforcement. In a disturbing turn of events, the situation escalated further with the villagers resorting to setting parts of the road ablaze.
