Bikram Sau came into the spotlight on April 19 when Prime Minister Narendra Modi stopped at his stall in Jhargram while returning from a public meeting and ate jhalmuri, a popular Bengali snack. Images and videos of the interaction circulated widely on social media and triggered extensive political discussion during the election campaign. According to Bikram Sau, threatening calls from foreign numbers began arriving over the past few days. The matter has now been formally reported to the police, who have started examining the source of the calls and related allegations. The episode follows weeks of political attention surrounding the stall after the Prime Minister publicly referred to the visit during election rallies and later during his recent foreign tour.
