CM Mamata pushes Aparajita Bill as TMC MPs urge President’s approval
In Tuesday's cabinet meeting held at Project Bhawan in Ranchi, Chief Minister Hemant Soren chaired the Jharkhand Cabinet meeting, which approved 18 important proposals to improve various sectors across the state. Key approvals include the creation of posts for the health insurance scheme for state employees and provisions for state-run hospitals.
A special court will now be established in Chatra to address pressing legal matters in the region. Additionally, the cabinet approved a supplementary budget, with specific deductions. Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore and ministers such as Ramdas Soren, Deepak Biruwa, Irfan Ansari, and Sanjay Prasad Yadav were present at the meeting.
Among other important measures, the cabinet approved an MoU with the AIA (Air India) to establish regular flights from Dumka Airport, a step expected to improve connectivity and access to the region. The Jharkhand Advocate Welfare Fund received approval for Rs 12 crore, a move designed to provide financial aid to the state's legal professionals.
Under the Gyanodya Yojana, the state has approved a proposal for introducing computer education in middle schools, aiming to enhance digital literacy among students. The cabinet also approved the formation of the Jharkhand Para Medical District Level Cadre (2025), laying the groundwork for better governance and service conditions for paramedics in the state.
Additionally, the cabinet has decided to abolish the penalty of stopping one salary increment for former Block Development Officer Kumkum Prasad of Tamar. A previous resolution to employ a highly skilled professional as Advisor cum Special Secretary on a contract basis was also canceled.
