Gangster Akhilesh Singh's henchman Kanhaiya Singh was arrested by a joint team of police officials from Uttar Pradesh and Jamshedpur on Monday evening.
Kanhaiya Singh was arrested at Kanpur railway station around 9 pm while he was waiting for a train along with his wife and children. A police team from Jamshedpur is currently providing transit custody to the steel city for the arrested criminal.
Kanhaiya Singh, a resident of Bagbera, was wanted in connection with several cases, including shooting and extortion. He extorted money from traders and businessmen on behalf of gangster Akhilesh Singh, who is currently lodged in Dumka Central Jail.
The police had earlier arrested Kanhaiya Singh's nephew Amit Singh along with another person. During the interrogation and scanning of Amit's smartphone, the police could learn about Kanhaiya Singh's ticket booking details and his travel plan. Only then did the police plan with the Uttar Pradesh police to nab him at the Kanpur railway station itself.
