India beats Bangladesh by 7 wickets in first T20, chase down total in 11.5 overs
The recent expansion of the Narendra Modi government's cabinet has sparked criticism from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) over the perceived neglect of Jharkhand natives. Supriyo Bhattacharya, the Central General Secretary of JMM, raised concerns about the absence of representation for the state in the cabinet for the third consecutive time.
Bhattacharya highlighted the apparent bias in cabinet expansion, emphasizing that no native of Jharkhand was given a ministerial position. However, he expressed appreciation for the appointment of Annapurna Devi, MP from Koderma and a representative of the Santhal community, as a central minister.
Despite acknowledging Devi's appointment, Bhattacharya criticized the selection of outsiders like Sanjay Seth as state ministers, questioning the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) failure to consider indigenous candidates for ministerial roles. The remarks from JMM underscore broader concerns about equitable representation and inclusivity in central governance.
