Joint organization moves High Court seeks protection for Govt employees in Panchayat Polls

Government employees assigned to duty in the upcoming Panchayat elections in West Bengal are experiencing fear and distress following a recent altercation involving a government employee at the BDO office in South 24 Parganas.

The Sangri United Forum, a collective organization of employee associations, is preparing to file a petition in the High Court seeking redress.

Today, a petition will be submitted to Chief Justice TS Sivagnanam's bench. The employee organizations have been consistently protesting for Dearness Allowance (DA) and had previously filed a petition in the Calcutta High Court, demanding the deployment of central forces to ensure election security.

In light of the attack on a government employee in South 24 Parganas, they will reiterate this demand for enhanced security measures.
