In a major anti-narcotics operation on Wednesday morning, a joint team of the Special Task Force (STF) of Kolkata Police and the SOG of Raiganj Police District intercepted an alleged drug dealer at Siliguri Morh under Raiganj police station limits. Acting on specific intelligence inputs developed by the STF, officers recovered seven packets containing approximately 700 grams of heroin concealed inside a plastic tiffin box. The estimated value of the seized contraband is around ₹3.5 crore in the international grey market.
The accused has been identified as Md Sabbir Sk (18), a resident of Khaschandpur village under Kaliachak police station in Malda district. He was apprehended on the spot during the interception operation carried out in coordination with local police authorities. The recovery was made after a targeted search based on prior intelligence.
