India beats Bangladesh by 7 wickets in first T20, chase down total in 11.5 overs
Meeting offers, counterclaims, terms and conditions, and whatnot were witnessed on Wednesday as junior doctors are adamant about their demands. Amid the deadlock between the medicos and the state government, the dharna outside the Health Building (Swasthya Bhawan) enters day 3.
Yesterday, the state chief secretary offered a meeting with a 12-15 member delegation. Reports said that the Chief Minister will be present in the meeting. However, the doctors claim there was no mention of it. They also demanded that a 30-member delegation will meet the CM and the meeting should be broadcast live.
In the evening, after the meeting at 6:00 pm was over, state minister Chandrima Bhattacharya, CS Manoj Pant, and DGP Rajeev Kumar held a press briefing where they addressed the doctors.
Chandrima Bhattacharya attributed “ulterior political motives” to the stand-off between protesting junior doctors and the state government over terms of engagement for talks. She said the government's willingness to hold an “unconditional” discussion should not hinge on any preconditions.
