Disruption in metro services between Dumdum and Dakshineswar; normal services resume after 2 hours
Sajjan Jindal, the MD of JSW Group, is facing serious allegations of rape by an actress, prompting the registration of a formal complaint on Wednesday at the BKC police station. The alleged incident occurred in January 2022 within the penthouse situated atop the company's headquarters at the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC).
The actress, who lodged the complaint, claims that the BKC police initially disregarded her grievances earlier this year, compelling her to seek legal recourse. The court subsequently directed the police to register the complaint.
According to the complainant, her interactions with Jindal began innocuously in October 2021 during an IPL match in Dubai, where they occupied the VIP box. The situation escalated during a meeting in Mumbai, where she alleges that Jindal made unwanted advances, culminating in a forcible incident in the company's penthouse in January 2022.
Despite her attempts to maintain a friendship afterward, Jindal reportedly blocked her number and issued threats in June 2022, dissuading her from involving law enforcement. In February 2023, after futile attempts to seek police intervention, she approached the court, leading to the filing of charges against Jindal under Sections 376, 354, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code.
