The West Bengal Cabinet has approved a massive expansion plan for JSW Energy. The company has now been granted permission to set up two independent super/ultra-supercritical power plants of 1,600 MW.
This strategic move aims to transform West Bengal into a power-surplus state while fueling the growing industrial demand in the eastern region. The company will be responsible for identifying the required land, ensuring a faster execution process under the state's industrial policy.
The agreement between JSW and the state government is formalized for a period of 25 years, providing long-term energy security to the region. There is also a flexible provision to extend this partnership by another 5 years based on future requirements.
