Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 hits ₹100 crore worldwide on day 2, trails behind Singham Again
Junior doctors have been on a hunger strike at Dharmatala for over 40 hours, demanding justice and better working conditions. The protest intensified when Aniket Mahato, the primary leader of the movement, joined the hunger strike, bringing the total to seven junior doctors refusing food. Their demands stem from recent incidents at RG Kar Medical College, where they believe accountability has been neglected, particularly concerning the safety and treatment of medical staff.
The seven junior doctors currently on hunger strike are Pulosta Acharya, Snigdha Hazra, Arnab Mukherjee, Sayantani Ghosh Hazra, Anustup Mukherjee, Tanaya Panja, and Aniket Mahato. They have vowed to continue their indefinite fast until their concerns are addressed by the authorities. Despite the prolonged strike, there has been no formal response from the government or medical officials, further fueling the tension.
In a show of solidarity, three senior doctors—Shraboni Chakraborty, Tapas Francis Biswas, and Munmun Kirtaniya—have joined the protest by undertaking a 24-hour symbolic hunger strike. Dr. Subarna Goswami, a prominent figure in the medical community, is also expected to participate soon. This move by senior doctors has drawn more attention to the ongoing protests and amplified the juniors' demands.
