Kailash Vijayvargiya may face political setback as he fails to mention Bengal rape case in his election re-run in MP

National General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Kailash Vijayvargiya, is facing potential troubles in his political sphere. Vijayvargiya is contesting from the Indore seat in Madhya Pradesh, but concerns have arisen as he did not mention a rape case against him in West Bengal in his election affidavit. This omission has prompted a lawyer in West Bengal to file a review petition.

Kailash Vijayvargiya, who recently made a political comeback after a decade, filed his nomination to contest the election from the Indore constituency. However, a rape case filed against him in West Bengal has raised questions about his eligibility.

The Supreme Court issued a directive in May 2023, ordering a judicial magistrate to re-examine a rape complaint filed by a woman against several senior BJP leaders, including Kailash Vijayvargiya. The case originated in West Bengal in November 2018 and led to the Supreme Court's intervention.
