Ritabrata Banerjee faces “Thief, Thief” slogans and abuse during Baruipur victim family visit
Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar and Sayani Ghosh arrived in Baruipur following instructions from the West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari. The duo went directly to the spot of the incident to take stock of the situation. During their visit, they interacted with the aggrieved family members and expressed their solidarity and condolences.
Speaking to media persons after the interaction, Barasat MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar stated that the Chief Minister specifically sent them to stand firmly by the family during this difficult time. She strongly demanded the maximum possible punishment for the accused individuals involved in the case. Furthermore, the Member of Parliament emphasized that stringent arrangements must be put in place to ensure such incidents do not occur again in the future.
The visit initially faced minor hurdles as the visiting representatives were briefly prevented from entering the location. However, they were later allowed to enter the premises after securing explicit permission from the family members. The leaders then spent time listening to the family's grievances before addressing the reporters present at the site.
