BJP candidate Suvendu Adhikari led a high-profile Ram Navami procession in Bhabanipur. Donning a saffron turban at 7 AM, Adhikari marched through the streets, offering prayers at local temples and connecting with voters in the heart of Mamata Banerjee’s traditional stronghold. During the rally, he made a bold pledge to establish "Ram Rajya" in West Bengal, promising "work in hands, rice in stomachs, and roofs over heads," while specifically emphasizing the safety of women as a cornerstone of his governance model.
The Trinamool Congress (TMC) was quick to dismiss the campaign, with TMC leader Kalyan Banerjee launching a scathing and sarcastic attack on the BJP leader. Referring to Adhikari’s active participation in the morning procession, Kalyan took a sharp dig, remarking that Suvendu was "jumping around like Hanuman."
Kalyan Banerjee further accused the BJP of trying to incite unrest under the guise of religious celebrations, asserting that the state remains peaceful despite the opposition's attempts to create a narrative of instability.
