India beats Bangladesh by 7 wickets in first T20, chase down total in 11.5 overs
BJP MP and actor Kangana Ranaut reached out to the police on Tuesday after a video surfaced on social media showing a group of men threatening her over the release of her upcoming film Emergency. In the film, Ranaut portrays former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, and the threats emerged after the film's trailer was released.
In the video, six men, including two dressed as Nihang Sikhs, are seen sitting in a room. One of the men warns, "If the movie is released, the Sikh community will condemn it. Your movie will be received with chappals." Another man, identified as Vicky Thomas Singh, a self-described social media influencer, warns of consequences if Khalistani terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale is portrayed as a terrorist in the film.
Ranaut shared the video on X and tagged the Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, and Punjab Police, requesting them to investigate the threats. Several organizations, including the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, have demanded a ban on the film, accusing it of spreading an "anti-Sikh" narrative and misrepresenting Sikhs as "separatists."
