In her latest tweet, Kangana Ranaut hit out at Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg for 'copying' Twitter CEO Elon Musk and also called him a 'genius'. The Emergency actress was responding to Zuckerberg's latest announcement about Instagram's Meta platform to introduce 'Meta Verified', a subscription-based scheme where a blue verification badge can be used.
The feature is similar to what Musk rolled out for microblogging site Twitter earlier after he took over the platform, a move that drew flak from netizens. Kangana had earlier predicted a new method of authentication to be used in the future. Following Zuckerberg's announcement to introduce the same, a Twitter user tweeted, “Kangana said the same earlier!! Her x-rays are real!!! He's always ahead!!!"
The actress responded to the tweet and said: "Ha ha, @elonmusk fought the whole world to do this, the media criticized him and people threatened to leave Twitter, he didn't even implement all the features and his ideas were such a big hit that any people already his ideas were hijacked and copied, which is the greatest disadvantage of genius.”
Zuckerberg previously announced: “Good morning and a new product announcement: this week we're launching Meta Verified, a subscription service that lets you verify your account with a government ID, get a blue badge, and get extra anti-spoofing protection for your accounts pretend to be you and get direct access to customer support. This new feature is about increasing the authenticity and security of our services. Meta Verified starts at $11.99/month on the web or $14.99/month on iOS. We're launching in Australia and New Zealand this week, with other countries coming soon."
Meanwhile, on the work front, the actress will next be seen in Emergency, which she is also directing and producing.
