Bengal Police busts Jamtara cyber scam, 46 arrested in statewide crackdown
Bollywood celebrities Kapil Sharma, Rajpal Yadav, Remo D'Souza, and Sugandha Mishra have reportedly received death threats through emails originating from Pakistan. The matter has been formally addressed by Mumbai police, with an FIR filed at the Amboli Police Station. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to identify the individual or group behind these threats and ensure the safety of the affected celebrities.
The threatening email sent to Kapil Sharma warned that his recent activities were under surveillance. Signed by an individual named “BISHNU,” the email instructed Sharma to take the threat seriously and to maintain confidentiality. The message included statements indicating the seriousness of the warning and made clear that the sender had been monitoring Sharma’s actions. The exact content of the threat was not disclosed, but the email contained clear language suggesting harm was intended.
On December 14, Rajpal Yadav received an email from the same sender, which also threatened Kapil Sharma and his team due to the sponsorship of Sharma's show by Bollywood actor Salman Khan. The email reportedly indicated that this association was the primary reason for the threats. Following the receipt of this email, Rajpal Yadav’s wife, Radha Rajpal Yadav, filed a police complaint at Amboli Police Station, urging immediate action.
The Mumbai police have traced the IP address of the email to Pakistan. In response, the authorities are working to coordinate with the government of Pakistan for further investigation and legal action. The police have warned the sender of the email to respond within eight hours, otherwise, they will face consequences both personally and professionally. In light of the threat, the police have enhanced security for Kapil Sharma, Rajpal Yadav, and the other individuals involved.
