Comedian Kapil Sharma’s Kap’s Cafe in Surrey, Canada, was targeted in yet another shooting, marking the third such incident in four months. The latest attack, which occurred on Thursday, was claimed by associates of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, identified as Kulveer Sidhu and Goldy Dhillon. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, but the repeated incidents have sparked serious security concerns.
A video circulating on social media shows multiple gunshots being fired at the café, which had only recently reopened after repairs from earlier attacks. The shooters were reportedly unmasked, firing several rounds before escaping. In a chilling social media post, the attackers claimed responsibility, warning Bollywood figures who “speak against their religion” and those “who owe them money.”
Authorities in Surrey have launched a detailed investigation, examining CCTV footage and speaking to witnesses. Police believe the attacks may be linked to extortion or religious retaliation. Kapil Sharma’s security in Mumbai had already been reviewed after the first two shootings, given the international nature of the threats.
The first attack took place on July 10, followed by another on August 7. Each time, the café suffered property damage but no casualties. The repeated strikes have not only disrupted business but also raised fears for Sharma’s safety and that of his staff.
