Flames rip through illegal warehouse in Burrabazar | Watch Taaza TV's report
The State Investigation Agency (SIA) of the Jammu & Kashmir Police conducted a raid at the Kashmir Times office in Jammu on Thursday, alleging involvement in activities that promote anti-national sentiments. Searches began in the morning and continued through the day as officials examined documents and materials linked to the organisation.
During the raid, police sources said Ak-47 cartridges, pistol rounds and three grenade levers were recovered from the premises. Investigators claim the findings point to potential activities that could threaten the sovereignty and territorial integrity of India and the Union Territory. An FIR has been registered against the newspaper under charges related to spreading disaffection and glorifying secessionism.
Kashmir Times Executive Editor Anuradha Bhasin has also been named in the FIR. The investigation aims to determine whether the publication or its personnel had any role in activities considered hostile to national security. Officials said further scrutiny of seized items and digital records will continue.
