Delhi's Kejriwal government is facing another setback as Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena has ordered a CBI inquiry into the procurement of alleged fake medicines in government hospitals. The Vigilance Department submitted a report on the matter, prompting LG Saxena to write a letter to Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar, instructing an immediate investigation and calling for the involvement of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
This development comes at a time when the CBI is already investigating the Delhi liquor scam case, with former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh currently in jail in related cases.
The Kejriwal government now faces intensified scrutiny, with CM Arvind Kejriwal summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning on January 3. In response to LG Saxena's directive, Delhi BJP leaders, including Virendra Sachdeva and MP Manoj Tiwari, held a press conference demanding the immediate removal of Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj. Accusing the government of endangering people's lives, the BJP leaders asserted that Bhardwaj should be replaced, and they vowed to protest until the demand is met.
