Kohli-Salt silenced Eden Gardens as RCB beats KKR by 7 wickets in IPL opener

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) demolished reigning champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by seven wickets in the opening game of IPL 2025 at Eden Gardens on Saturday. KKR managed to post a total of just 174, which RCB chased down in just 16.2 overs. Krunal Pandya (3/29) and Josh Hazlewood (2/22) starred with the ball, before Phil Salt and Virat Kohli showed their class, smashing half-centuries en route to a dominant win. For KKR, captain Ajinkya Rahane's half-century was the only positive.
