Kolkata Police reshapes policing landscape, transfers key inspectors

In a significant development, Kolkata Police has undergone substantial transfers at the Inspector level, impacting more than half of the police stations in the metropolis. The recent transfer list from Lalbazar reveals several key changes, including the appointment of Sandeep Ganguly, formerly in charge of Chitpur police station, as the new in-charge of Barabazar police station. Swaroop Kanti Pahari has taken over as the in-charge of Poppy police station, while Inspector Neelkant from Lalbazar Detective Department now heads Bahubazar police station.

The reshuffling extends to various police stations, with OC Gariahat Salil Kumar Rai becoming the new OC of Shakespeare Sarani police station, and OC Shakespeare Sarani Jayasuriya Mukherjee assuming the role of OC Jorasanko police station. OC Intali Mukesh Singh is now OC Alipur, and OC Watganj's Ayan Bhowmik takes charge of Park Street police station.

Additional transfers include the appointment of Sukhendu Mukhopadhyay, the OC of Central Division, as the new OC of New Market police station, and Deval Das from Lalbazar Detective Department assuming the role of OC Girish Park. Lakshmi Narayan Paan, previously OC Ballygunge, is now OC Taltala, while Additional OC East Jadavpur Snehasish Karan is appointed as the OC of East Jadavpur police station.

Tapan Mandal, the Additional OC Matiaburj, has been appointed as the OC of KLC. These widespread transfers aim to bring fresh leadership to various police stations in Kolkata, fostering effective law enforcement across the city.
