Schools Across Kolkata Have Been Preparing Their Star Students for Tomorrow’s Big Moment
Medha Samman 2025 to Honour 2,000+ Toppers from 100+ Institutions at Dhono Dhanyo Auditorium
The corridors of Kolkata’s top schools are buzzing with energy and excitement, not because of an exam or result — but because of an honour. As the city gears up for Taaza TV's Medha Samman 2025, the biggest academic felicitation ceremony in Eastern India, over 100 schools have been prepping their Class 12 toppers for what may be one of the proudest days of their academic journey.
The class 12 event, scheduled for Saturday, June 21 at 3 PM at Dhono Dhanyo Auditorium, Alipore, is expected to host more than 2,000 board toppers who will be awarded for their achievements in the presence of renowned dignitaries, principals, and parents.
From South Point and Lakshmipat Singhania to St. Xavier’s, Delhi Public School, and Don Bosco—schools across the city have selected and confirmed their best-performing students for the event. “We’ve done internal felicitation programs before, but Medha Samman takes things to a national level,” said a teacher from La Martiniere for Boys. “The exposure, the guest list, the crowd—our students are thrilled.”
For students, the moment is surreal. “When we were told we’re being called to an award show where Defence Ministry CMDs and international dignitaries will be present, we were shocked. This is not just a certificate—it’s a memory for life,” said Anika Ghosh, a topper from 2024.
Heads of schools have shown strong support, with many even planning to attend alongside their students. “The fact that such a well-structured and prestigious event is being organised year after year gives our students something to aim for beyond marks. It gives them recognition,” said Smt Gargi Banerjee, Principal of Sri Sri Academy Kolkata.
The goal of Medha Samman is not just felicitation but also instilling pride, aspiration, and exposure. “We’ve seen how a stage and spotlight can elevate a student’s confidence. This is an investment in the spirit of meritocracy,” said Bishambhar Newar, Chairman at Taaza TV and the visionary behind the initiative.
As the stage is set and medals prepared, tomorrow’s Medha Samman promises to be more than a ceremony. For Kolkata’s brightest students, it will be the beginning of a journey etched in honour, applause, and pride.
