Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Kunal Ghosh made serious allegations regarding the ongoing unrest in Murshidabad, West Bengal. Ghosh accused a section of the Border Security Force (BSF) of helping attackers cross the border and create violence in the region. According to Ghosh, these attackers, with the help of certain political forces, are attempting to defame Bengal and destabilize the state.
Kunal Ghosh claimed, “In democratic setups, protests and processions are part of the fabric. However, in places where violence has occurred, it is alleged that attackers have been brought in with the assistance of some sections of the BSF. These miscreants are believed to have crossed the border and wreaked havoc in Murshidabad, setting fires and inciting further disturbances.” Ghosh emphasized that the local population is struggling to identify these attackers, who are suspected to be outsiders deliberately causing trouble.
He went on to claim that the attackers, once they carried out their acts of violence, managed to escape back across the border with the help of the same section of the BSF. "The people of Murshidabad cannot recognize the faces of the attackers. These people incited violence and then vanished without a trace," said Ghosh. He further asserted that an investigation should be launched to look into these claims and uncover the full extent of the conspiracy.
In a bold accusation, Ghosh directly pointed the finger at the BJP, claiming the party is behind the unrest. He described it as part of a larger conspiracy to destabilize Bengal and harm the state’s image. “This is BJP’s agenda. They want to create unrest in Bengal and then blame the state government for it,” Ghosh said. He has called for a thorough investigation to verify the involvement of external forces and agencies in the unrest.
Additionally, BSF intelligence has already suggested that fundamentalists from Nawabganj in Bangladesh could be behind the unrest in Murshidabad and Malda. The speculation indicates that these groups may have been instrumental in inciting violence, though it remains unclear how much involvement the BSF might have had in facilitating their entry.
