Lakhs of rupees seized in Kolkata again, 2 arrested

Cash seizures are happening for three consecutive days in West Bengal. After Ballygunge, Gariahat, lakhs of rupees in cash were recovered from Barabazar on Friday. In the operation of Kolkata Police, 35 lakh rupees have been recovered from Barabazar. This cash was being brought to the Barabazar through cycles. According to sources, this money has been recovered from a textile company located at Babulal Lane of Barabazar. According to police sources, no account of money was received from that company. After that the police arrested two people along with the cash.

On Thursday evening, about one crore rupees were recovered from Gariahat in South Kolkata. Kolkata Police STF have arrested two people. Earlier on Wednesday afternoon, crores of rupees were recovered from Ballygunge. ED recovered that money. 

According to the information received from the police, on Friday afternoon, on the basis of secret information, Shri Ramnivas Textiles (Private) Limited, 7/1 Babulal Lane, Badabazar Police Station, Col. 7 was raided. 35 lakh (approx) was found there, against which no valid document could be shown by the staff present in the above office. Accordingly the money has been seized and 2 persons have been arrested. The owners of Shree Niwas Textiles are Ajay Sultania and Neeludevi Sultania. He has several shell companies at 7/1 Babulal Lane. There is an allegation of doing hawala business through shell companies.

In the case of cash recovery from Kolkata, police officials said that this money was to be used through hawala. The police have already seized them before this. It is alleged that dozens of shell companies have been formed by the accused. Money is transferred unethically through those shell companies.
