Lalduhoma to swear in as Mizoram CM on December 8

The swearing-in ceremony of Mizoram's newly elected Chief Minister, Lalduhoma, is set to take place on December 8, Friday. The Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) emerged victorious in the state, securing 27 out of 40 assembly constituencies. Lalduhoma, the chief of ZPM, will lead the next government in Mizoram as the Chief Minister.

In the recently announced election results by the Election Commission, the Mizo National Front (MNF) won 10 seats, the BJP secured two seats, and Congress obtained one seat. Lalduhoma, who contested from Serchhip, secured victory over his Mizo National Front counterpart by 8,314 votes.

After the swearing-in ceremony, Chief Minister Lalduhoma will outline his top priorities for the next 100 days. Despite Mizoram facing a financial crisis, during campaigning, he expressed the commitment to buying four selected agricultural items at a declared minimum price – ginger, turmeric, chilli, and broom stick.

Lalduhoma emphasized the significance of supporting farmers and announced the formation of a resource mobilization team to address financial reform. Their team will oversee austerity measures, investment strategies, manpower assessment, and more.

Additionally, Lalduhoma highlighted the government's commitment to anti-corruption measures, announcing a swift approval for the CBI to initiate actions against corruption.
