A landslide occurred around 9 AM near Sevoke Outpost on National Highway 10, close to Sevoke Baghpool (Coronation Bridge), damaging a passenger vehicle travelling from Kalimpong to Siliguri. The vehicle was caught in falling debris as the slope above loosened, striking its front section.
All passengers inside the vehicle managed to exit in time. There were no reports of injury or loss of life. Local sources stated that the vehicle sustained significant damage due to the impact of the landslide.
Sevoke Outpost officials reached the site promptly and initiated efforts to clear the debris and recover the damaged vehicle. Work is ongoing to restore traffic movement on the affected stretch.
