Bengal Govt declares holidays on Feb 13 & 14, long weekend ahead
Tapas, a 22-year-old law student, died on Saturday after falling from the seventh floor of Supreme Towers, an apartment complex in Sector 99, Noida. Tapas, a resident of Ghaziabad, was pursuing his LLB at a private university in Noida. He had gone to the apartment to attend a party hosted by a friend.
The police received a call about the incident and immediately arrived at the scene. Officials found that Tapas had fallen from the seventh floor and succumbed to his injuries. His body was sent for a post-mortem examination, and his family was informed about the incident.
Preliminary investigations revealed that multiple people were present in the flat during the party. A case of abetment to suicide has been registered against four to five individuals believed to be involved. Some attendees have been taken into custody for questioning. The police are working to gather witness statements and verify the sequence of events leading to the fall.
A forensic team and senior officials conducted a detailed inspection of the site to collect evidence. Items from the flat and other potential evidence have been secured for analysis. The police are awaiting the post-mortem report to ascertain the exact cause of death.
Tapas’ father, who is an advocate based in Ghaziabad, has been informed and is expected to file a formal complaint. Further legal actions will depend on the findings from the investigation, forensic analysis, and the family’s input. The police have stated that the case is being thoroughly investigated.
