In a recurring incident, a leopard has once again been trapped in the cage installed by the Forest Department within Tasati Tea Garden, located in Alipurduar district. This marks the second time in a short span, as just on Saturday night, another leopard was also trapped in the same cage.
The latest incident involves a fully adult leopard, which was discovered ensnared by workers at the tea garden. The workers promptly reported the discovery to the Forest Department, leading to a swift response from the forest workers of Jaldapara Forest Department, who successfully captured the trapped leopard.
Following the rescue, the leopard was transported to the South Khayerbari Rehabilitation Centre. These repeated incidents of leopard trapping within the tea garden had left the tea garden workers on edge, and they expressed a collective sense of relief with the successful capture and relocation of the leopards.
