A distressing incident unfolded in Ghusuri Coolie Line, Howrah, where local residents came to the rescue of an elderly couple trapped in their burning house. The couple, identified as Sunita Devi (50) and Swami Ramdhani Ram, was promptly brought to Howrah Hospital. Unfortunately, the doctors declared Sunita Devi dead, while her husband was admitted in critical condition.
