Bengal Govt elevates IPS Ajay Mukund Ranade to DGP (Law and Order)
Bidhannagar’s Ward 20 witnessed a halt in road construction after local residents protested the use of less construction material than prescribed. The partially built road was dug up, and work on a new road has begun under residents’ supervision.
Locals complained that when they requested the construction schedule from the contractor, it was not provided, and he left after laying just one inch of the road. The residents have insisted that unless three inches of material are properly laid, the road should not be allowed to be completed.
Additionally, residents raised concerns about bamboo strips being cut and laid over drains, alleging it is a method to save money. Authorities have been forced to pause the work and address these concerns before proceeding further.
