NCP leader Baba Siddique shot multiple times and dies in Mumbai Hospital
A head-on collision between two freight trains near Singhpur railway station in Madhya Pradesh has left the locomotive pilot dead and three others injured. The unfortunate incident, which happened around 7:15 am on Wednesday, also led to a fire in one of the freight trains.
Top Indian Railways and police officials reached the spot soon after the accident and started rescue operations, as per reports.
According to report, the pilot of the locomotive was killed in the collision, and the other three injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. All trains on the Bilaspur-Katni route have been affected and are running late after the accident. Indian Railways has ordered an internal inquiry into the untoward incident.
In a similar incident on February 16, two freight trains collided in Uttar Pradesh’s Sultanpur that affected the rail operations between Lucknow and Jaunpur.
The drivers of both the trains received severe injuries. Due to the accident, at least 9 wagons of one of the goods train overturned causing damage to both the trains. Several boggies of the trains were also derailed.
