Long queues outside Chunchura post office for Annapurna Bhandar Aadhaar linking

Large crowds gathered outside the Chunchura Main Post Office in Hooghly district on Wednesday as consumers queued up to link their Aadhaar cards and mobile numbers to avail benefits under the newly announced Annapurna Bhandar scheme. According to local sources, women began arriving at the post office from the early hours of the morning, with some reportedly joining the queue as early as 3:00 AM. Consumers were seen carrying Aadhaar cards, mobile phones, and supporting documents required for the linking process. The rush intensified after the state government formally released application forms for the scheme earlier in the day.

According to reports, beneficiaries of the Lakshmir Bhandar scheme are attempting to complete Aadhaar and mobile number linking procedures amid concerns that failure to complete the process could affect their eligibility under Annapurna Bhandar. Long queues formed specifically for linking mobile numbers with Aadhaar cards, while many applicants stated that they had only recently become aware of the requirement. Several women waiting outside the post office said they were prepared to stand in line for hours in order to ensure access to the scheme’s benefits and avoid any complications during verification.

As the day progressed, the crowd outside the Chunchura Main Post Office continued to increase, leading to extended waiting times and congestion around the premises. The Annapurna Bhandar scheme application process includes provisions for both existing beneficiaries and new applicants. According to the announcement, current beneficiaries of the Lakshmir Bhandar scheme will be eligible to receive benefits under Annapurna Bhandar, while separate forms will also be available for fresh applicants seeking enrolment in the scheme.
